Craniosynostosis
Craniosynostosis is a congenital defect in which one or more of the cranial sutures in an infant's skull close prematurely, causing abnormal head shape and potentially restricting brain growth. Early diagnosis and surgical intervention are important to prevent neurological impairment. Craniosynostosis affects roughly one in 2,200 live births.
