Keratoconus
Keratoconus is a progressive eye condition affecting the cornea, causing it to thin and bulge into a cone-like shape. This deformation leads to distorted vision and increased sensitivity to light. Often diagnosed in adolescence, keratoconus can significantly impair visual acuity if untreated, but can be managed through contact lenses or surgery.
