Myocardial Ischemia

Myocardial ischemia occurs when blood flow to the heart muscle is reduced, preventing it from receiving enough oxygen. This may result in chest pain, also known as angina. Common causes include atherosclerosis or blood clots. If untreated, myocardial ischemia can lead to heart attack or severe cardiac dysfunction.
