Shingles
Shingles, or herpes zoster, is a viral infection causing a painful rash. It results from the reactivation of the varicella-zoster virus, which also causes chickenpox. Shingles typically appears as a single stripe of blisters on one side of the body. Vaccination can reduce the risk of developing shingles.
