Testicular torsion is a medical emergency where the spermatic cord twists, cutting off blood flow to the testicle. This condition causes sudden, severe pain and swelling in the scrotum. Immediate surgical intervention is essential to save the affected testicle. Testicular torsion mainly occurs in adolescents but can happen at any age.
