Tetanus
Tetanus is a serious bacterial infection caused by Clostridium tetani, characterised by muscle stiffness and spasms. The bacteria produce a toxin that affects the nervous system. Without timely treatment, tetanus can be fatal. Vaccination is the most effective prevention. Tetanus primarily enters the body through punctured wounds or cuts.
