Dr Rupa Parmar

Hi I'm Rupa and passionate about delivering high quality private General Practice that is personalised, accessible and delivered with care. I was an NHS GP Partner for just over 10 years and still work as GP with a special interest in Gynaecology within the NHS. I have experience as a Medical Director in establishing and overseeing a large private GP service in the heart of Birmingham city centre and Leicester.

Dr Pav Hare

Dr Hare trained at the University of Leeds Medical School, graduating in 2013. During this time, she also obtained a BSc Honours degree in Physiological Sciences in 2011 from Newcastle University, where she gained a deeper understanding of the human body while engaging with internationally-renowned researchers.

Dr Sarah Wright

Dr Sarah Wright (MBChB, DRCOG, DFSRH DPD) qualified from Leeds University in 2001 and then went on to pursue GP training in Birmingham, qualifying with a distinction in 2006. Dr Wright has over 15 years of experience working in both NHS and private General Practice and has special interests in women’s health and dermatology. She holds the Diploma for family planning and sexual health and also fits coils and implants for contraceptive care. Helping people with menopause care is something she also finds very rewarding.

Dr Pav Dhesi

Dr Dhesi completed her first engineering-based degree and subsequent Medical Degree at the University of Manchester. She completed her training hospital rotations in the West Midlands, continuing on to complete her GP training in Birmingham.

Dr Rakhee Thaker

Dr Rakhee Thaker (MBChB, MRCP, MRCGP, DFSRH) completed her medical training at the University of Birmingham in 2003 following which she lived and worked in Sydney, Australia. On returning to the UK, she completed General Medical training, becoming a member of both the Royal College of Physicians in 2007 and Royal College of General Practice in 2009. Rakhee went on to work as an NHS GP partner in West London.

Dr Jacob Stendall

Dr Jacob Stendall is a General practitioner. He is a graduate for Colombia in South America and he is fluent in Spanish. After coming to the UK in 2002, worked as a hospital doctor in emergency Medicine and later Anaesthetics and Intensive Care; before becoming a member of the Royal College of Practitioners in 2016.

Dr Christos Kasparis

Dr. Christos Kasparis is a UK-trained Consultant Dermatologist and has been practicing in Dermatology since 2008. He completed his medical training at Manchester University in 2004, before training in general medicine until 2008 giving him broad and valuable exposure to various medical specialties, as many skin conditions can be related to other medical conditions. Since qualifying, he has worked at many well respected and renowned Dermatology centres across the UK to broaden his dermatology experience.

Dr Ajoy Bardhan

Ajoy Bardhan is a Consultant Dermatologist at Midland Health's clinic in Edgbaston. He prides himself on providing an affable and accessible approach to addressing skin complaints, regardless of severity. He seeks to provide a prompt and accurate diagnosis, followed by the initiation of effective, evidence-based treatment aiming to ensure that patients' symptoms and anxieties can be resolved as quickly as possible. His NHS base is University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHB), home to one of the largest and busiest specialist dermatology departments in the country. His general medical dermatology clinics cover a broad spectrum of skin conditions, as well as holding clinics for specialist assessment of skin lesions and cutaneous surgery.

Dr Christina Leitner

Since 2011, Dr Leitner has been working in dermatology in NHS hospitals around Manchester, in Cambridge and the West Midlands and as consultant dermatologist in Wales and the Midlands, Worcester (from 2017). Dr Leitner has always been motivated to support teaching and training of junior health professionals in the NHS.

Mr Steve Amerasekera

Dr Steve Amerasekera is a Consultant Radiologist at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. He studied Medicine at Pembroke College, Cambridge, where he also won a Blue for hockey. He initially trained in General Medicine, obtaining Membership of the Royal College of Physicians, and a postgraduate certificate in Medical Education.

Mr Amit Parmar

Mr Amit Parmar is an Adult and Paediatric Consultant ENT/Head and Neck Surgeon. He attended medical school in London at the prestigious St Bartholomew’s and Royal London School of medicine where he graduated with Distinctions. During his early training he rotated through a number of well-known UK and International institutes such as Great Ormond Street and the Melbourne Eye and Ear Hospital.

Mr Mriganka De

Mr Mriganka De is a Consultant ENT Head & Neck Surgeon at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. He provides all his patients a personalised service supported by the best available evidence-based treatments.

Mr Jonathan Fussey

Mr Jonathan Fussey is a consultant ear, nose and throat (ENT) surgeon based in one of the UK’s busiest ENT departments at the University Hospitals Birmingham Queen Elizabeth Hospital. He Graduated from the University of Birmingham Medical School with honours in 2010, and subsequently worked in hospitals throughout the West Midlands, gaining experience in general, plastic, cardiothoracic and ENT surgery and obtaining his Diploma of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery before embarking upon higher surgical training in ENT/head and neck surgery in Birmingham. During this time, he developed an interest in head and neck surgery, treating cancers and benign conditions of the throat, salivary glands and thyroid gland, and took time out of clinical training to complete doctoral research on thyroid cancer resulting in the award of Doctor of Medicine (MD).

Mr Shahz Ahmed

Shahz Ahmed practices as an NHS Consultant Rhinologist and Skull Base Surgeon at University Hospitals Birmingham (UHB), University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire and Birmingham Children’s’ Hospital.

Dr Usman Maqsood

Dr Maqsood is a consultant in general and respiratory medicine. He qualified from University of Health Sciences, Lahore in 2003 and completed his specialist training in UK (CCT) in major hospitals in the West Midlands. He complimented his specialist training with a fellowship in interventional procedures from Lancashire Teaching Hospitals.

Dr Guy Hagan

Dr Hagan is a consultant in general and respiratory medicine. He qualified from Birmingham Medical School in 2002 and trained in respiratory and general medicine in major hospitals in the West Midlands. He spent an additional two years working in Papworth Hospital, Cambridge during a period of research into pulmonary vascular diseases and was awarded a Masters Degree by the University of Cambridge.

Dr Hamid Rahmanian

Dr Rahmanian (MD, FRCPsych) is a Consultant Psychiatrist working in both the NHS and the private sector. He qualified as a General Practitioner in 1998, and worked as GP for 5 years. He has worked in various specialities for a number of years before specialising in psychiatry, which provided him with an in-depth understanding of the impact of physical health on a person’s mental health and vice versa.

Professor Ahmad Aurakzai

Professor Ahmad Aurakzai, FRCPCH UK, FRCP Ireland, FRCP Glasgow, FCPS, MRCP Ireland, MSc, DCHRCP, DCH, MCPS, MBBS. He qualified from Khyber Medical College with a gold medal and won President of Pakistan award. He has more than 30 years’ experience in Paediatrics. He started his paediatric training in 1987 in paediatric unit in Lady Reading Hospital/Postgraduate Medical Institute (LRH/PGMI) in Pakistan. It gave him a wide range of clinical experience. He passed DCH (diploma) and MCPS (membership) examinations; completed his research dissertation and managed to publish few papers. He presented work on meningococcal meningitis in an international conference in Pakistan and the same work was presented by Professor M Imran in International Conference in Paris, France.

Dr Waleed Tagelsir Ahmed

Dr Waleed Ahmed, Consultant Psychiatrist (MBBS, DCP, Dip neuropsychiatry, MRCPsych) has many years of experience as a Consultant Psychiatrist. He has worked within the NHS, the independent sector and internationally. He completed his training in Psychiatry and worked within the Norfolk and Suffolk mental health Trust before and started his career as a consultant psychiatrist in the UK. He has been a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists since 2008 and keeps his knowledge and skills in the field up to date. He follows the national guidance for assessment and management of psychiatric problems.

Dr Ho is an experienced consultant psychiatrist who has treated patients with complex mental health conditions. His special interests include neurodivergent presentations including ADHD. He has previously won awards for innovative health projects, and in his free time enjoys exploring the countryside.

Dr Luqman Khan

Dr Luqman Khan (GMC 3490008, MRCPsych certified Consultant Psychiatrist) has over 10+ years’ experience of developing innovative General Psychiatry and Addiction services to a diverse client group with high levels of morbidity for alcohol, drugs, and mental health problems in the UK.

Dr Deepak Parasuraman

I am Dr Deepak Parasuraman, a Consultant Paediatrician. I answer to either name and my favorite memory is when a little patient called me "Dr D". I enjoy being a children's doctor and I am passionate about the care children receive and about services for children. I led the children's services provided by University Hospitals BIrmingham, as the Clinical Services Lead, through COVID-19 until recently (December 2022). I believe care and support should be seamless and worry free and that it should be available when needed. WIth this in mind, my private practice will not just be medicine but also appropriate systems to support the child and family.

Dr Hossein Rostamipour

Dr Rostamipour is a Consultant Psychiatrist, working in South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, one of the most prestigious mental health facilities in Europe. He also works as a Visiting Consultant in Priory Mental Health Hospital in Roehampton.

Dr Ugo Agogbua

Dr Ugo Agogbua is a CAMHS Psychiatrist with 18 years of experience in both the NHS and Independent sector. Dr Ugo has vast experience in managing various mental health problems seen in children and adolescents including ADHD, Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Anxiety disorders, Personality disorders, Psychosis and Affective disorders such as Bipolar disorder; and his main area of interest is transcultural psychiatry.

Dr Tom Dawson

Dr Dawson trained at University College, London during which time he travelled extensively. Upon completion of his studies he went on to work in Manchester and London before moving to hospital rotations in the Midlands in 2000. As a clinical research fellow he worked on the MenB vaccine in Oxford Vaccine Group. He also researched Toxic Shock Syndrome before moving back to the Midlands to complete his specialist training in Birmingham, developing an interest in infection and allergy.

Dr Mary Salama

Dr Mary Salama MBCHB BSc MRCPCH is a Consultant Paediatrician at Birmingham Childrens Hospital. Dr ‘Mary’ as she prefers to be called, trained at the University of Edinburgh completing both her Medical degree and an additional BSc in Physiology. She went on to work initially in Scotland before moving down to London where she decided to specialise in paediatrics.

Dr Prasad Nagakumar

Prasad Nagakumar specialises in children’s respiratory problems including cough, breathlessness including post COVID respiratory symptoms, allergies, sleep problems, asthma and wheeze. He leads the regional severe asthma service at the Birmingham Children’s hospital where he treats children with wide range of respiratory and sleep problems including cystic fibrosis, Sleep and ventilation, bronchiectasis and children with dysfunctional breathing.

Mr Rajeev Peravali, an expert in general and colorectal surgery with more than 18 years of experience in the field. As a University of Birmingham graduate (BMedSc (Hons), MBChB, Diploma in Laparoscopic Surgery, MCh, FRCS (Ed.)), Rajeev has built up his expertise over the years while working in a variety of prestigious medical institutions, including the University Hospital Birmingham, Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and Cambridge University Hospital.

Mr Rupesh Bhatt

Mr Rupesh Bhatt is a Birmingham local from Four Oaks Sutton Coldfield. He studied at King Edward’s School, Edgbaston and completed a master’s degree and medical training at Cambridge University. Following this education, Mr Bhatt trained in London and Birmingham, completing senior uro-oncology training at the Christie Hospital, Manchester, under the stewardship of Professor Noel W Clarke. Then he moved aboard to Melbourne, Australia and completed a fellowship in laparoscopic uro-oncology before moving back home and taking senior Consultant Urological Surgeon position at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in 2006.

Professor Alok Tiwari

He qualified from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School, London in 1996. He then undertook basic surgical training at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Essex followed a period of research for a Master of Surgery degree at Royal Free Hospital in London. He presented and published extensively from this. Professor Tiwari received specialist registrar training in London and Essex in both general and vascular surgery. During this time he undertook a one year Vascular fellowship at the prestigious Westmead Vascular Unit in Sydney, Australia where he learnt endovascular techniques to allow the treatment of patients using minimally invasive methods including angioplasty and Endovascular Aneurysm Repair (EVAR). He worked as a locum consultant in the vascular unit at Norfolk and Norwich Hospital.

Dr Sam Smith

Dr Samuel Smith is a UK trained Consultant Gastroenterologist with full Joint Advisory Group (JAG) accreditation in upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy. He specialises in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of gastroenterology and liver disease, with a subspecialist interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD).

Dr Deepak Goyal

Dr Deepak Goyal is Consultant Interventional Cardiologist working at Worcestershire Royal Hospital.He completed his initial training at the Banaras Hindu University India and has over 20 years experience in cardiology. After coming to the UK he completed training in interventional cardiology and worked as a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and University Hospital of North Staffordshire(2011-2016) before joining at Worcestershire Royal Hospital as Interventional Cardiologist(2016).

Dr Chetan Mehta

Dr Chetan Mehta, MBBS, MD, MRCPCH is a Consultant Paediatric and Lead Interventional Cardiologist at Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Honorary Consultant Adult Congenital Interventional Cardiologist at University Hospital’s of Birmingham.

Dr. Kausik Das

Dr Das has worked in the field of gynaecology for over two decades. He was graduated from Calcutta, India and acquired extensive experience in general gynaecology during his research leading to a Diploma and MD in gynaecology. His specialist training in the UK was in the Wessex and West Midlands regions. He specialises in advanced laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgeries in gynaecology.

Dr. Yadava Jeve

Dr. Yadava Jeve is a Consultant Sub-specialist in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery at BMI the Priory Hospital in Birmingham, the Birmingham Women’s Hospital, at Midland Health. He has worked at Leicester Fertility Centre and Oxford Fertility Centre before moving to Birmingham. He is an accredited subspecialist in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery. He is a specialist in various fertility investigations and treatments including IVF, ICSI, egg freezing, poor ovarian response, recurrent implantation failure, premature ovarian insufficiency, donor egg treatment, surrogacy, and reproductive endocrinology. He is a competent laparoscopic and hysteroscopy surgeon with a special interest in managing conditions affecting fertility.

Dr Grisham Smotra

Dr Smotra is currently working as a full time consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist and Early pregnancy and Acute Gynaecology Lead at Walsall Hospital NHS Trust. Dr Smotra completed her medical degree in 2002 and has been working in obstetrics and gynaecology since 2004. She trained in obstetrics and gynaecology within the West Midlands region, with special interest in early pregnancy and acute gynaecology conditions, early pregnancy / gynaecology ultrasound, ambulatory office gynaecology (outpatient hysteroscopy and colposcopy) and benign gynaecology (open and minimal access surgery).

Mr Manoj Parulekar

Mr Parulekar is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at the Birmingham Womens & Children’s Hospital, the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust and Midland Health. He specialises in children’s eye problems (paediatric ophthalmology) and childhood and adult squints.
